ScanGenie series
Acellent's SMART Layer® sensors are connected to purpose-built data-acquisition (DAQ) hardware to capture diagnostic signals with high accuracy. Our standard models come in different channel counts and deployment methods, while we also offer custom designs with unique features tailored your needs.
The ScanGenie hardware series facilitates active acousto-ultrasonic data acquisition from a network of piezoelectric sensors embedded within or mounted on a structure. It enables damage detection in localized hot spots or large areas on metal and composite structures. The series includes various models that support different numbers of PZT channels, interface with other sensor types, and are designed for on-board or off-board applications.
ScanGenie Mini
Our SMART Layers® are designed laboratory testing and prototyping. Each layer includes a single sensor, either a Pizeoelectric or digital temperature sensor, embedded in a thin, flexible dielectric carrier film. With only one sensor, it can be placed anywhere, providing customizable intra-sensor spacing. The sensors are wired individually and connected to data-acquisition hardware through a multi-channel connection box.
ScanGenie IV
Our SMART Layer® sensor designs catalog includes a variety of standard off-the-shelf options, such as strips of different lengths and circular patterns. These designs are ideal for most common applications, making them perfect for testing and prototyping, as well as production environments. Our standard designs come with a complete set of PZT sensors and optional digital temperature sensors.
ScanGenie Wireless
We offer the option to create fully customized SMART Layers® that cater to your specific requirements. Our capabilities allow for virtually any layout, including stretchable/expandable networks that can adapt to any geometric shape/structure. You can also choose the number and combination of sensors such as PZT sensors, digital temperature sensors, RTDs, strain gauges, fiber optics, and more.

IMGenie Pro
Our newest "passive" DAQ hardware is the IMGenie Pro It comes in a black, durable PC-ABS plastic casing that is perfect for both laboratory and field use. It can accommodate up to 32 PZT sensors, 3 RTDs, and 9 strain gauges. The IMGenie Pro offers results through built-in or wireless interfaces, with Wi-Fi and 4G/LTE available as build-to-order options.
The SMART Layer® is our proprietary sensor appliqué, designed to be permanently mounted to any structure. It consists of a network of distributed sensors of various types, embedded in a thin carrier film, with integrated wiring and connectors. Standard and custom designs are available. Whether you're retrofitting an existing structure or integrating it into a new one, installation couldn't be simpler.
